With all of the historic events occurring I feel as if memory is extremely important. This day is going to be one that we tell our children and grandchildren about in years to come. The first black president. Wow.
I totally agree with you! I will always remember that I was in linguistics when this happened. This is the end result of a lot of movements. I am a sports nut and love to think of the influential african american sports stars that helped realize such an event. Jesse Owens, the first African American athlete in the olympics. Muhammad ali, very influential in the Afican American movements. Of course there was jackie robinson, tony dungy, the texas tech basketball team all these wonderful events that led to change! yay for change
